Book Nook: New Books from Boys Town Press

I recently had the chance to review three new books from Boys Town Press. Boys Town Press publishes books that help kids work through a wide variety of issues, from social skills to life skills to mental health. They have books geared for a wide variety of ages, and engaging stories that provide excellent ways for parents and teachers to encourage kids to make better choices, as well as give kids the language and tools to help express themselves and work to improve attitudes or behavior.

Pause Power - This book is about Gabe, a boy who has big flashing buttons to symbolize people "pushing his buttons" to get under his skin. He reacts by getting mad, and needs to learn how to pause, take a breath, and calm himself down. The book has downloadable activities to help reinforce the lessons in the book.
I'll NEVER Get All of that Done! - This is a common problem that many kids have. It's hard to be overwhelmed with activities, especially when you're a kid. This installment of the Executive FUNction series helps Blake with the three P's - prioritize, plan, and post - to get everything important done when it needs to get done.
Herman Jiggle, Say Hello! - In this book, Herman needs to gain the self-confidence to talk to others. His mom gently guides him step by step, with cute little rhymes, to make progress in being able to confidently say hi.

All three books are kid-friendly and helpful, dealing with many issues young kids often have. If your'e looking for books to help your kids with these or any other issues, check out the Boys Town Press store for more!
