World Wisdom: Youth Climate Justice Summit 2020 (MN)

On Wednesday, February 26, 2020, youth from across the state of Minnesota will gather at the Minnesota Good Neighbor Center and the Minnesota State Capitol as part of the Youth Climate Justice Summit 2020. The Youth Climate Justice Summit is an annual event where youth can experience first-hand how to participate in government.  Students will participate in workshops to learn skills and strategies for making change in their own communities as well as meet with Minnesota legislators to discuss issues surrounding climate change and social justice.

Youth Climate Justice Summit 2020 is anchored by Youth Environmental Activists of Minnesota (YEA! MN), a program of Climate Generation: A Will Steger Legacy. Event organizers from YEA! MN include a team of youth involved in leadership programs focused on climate literacy, political education and organizing skills to support student action on climate change solutions. Many schools attend this event as a field trip aligning with education standards in science and social studies.

The event is open to all Minnesota high school students to attend, as well as middle school and college students. The majority of programs will occur at the Minnesota Good Neighbor Center. A detailed agenda will be released in early February.
