Parents across the country have experienced all kinds of new challenges with the kids at home full time. Sure, there are plenty of activities online to keep kids engaged, but what about one that opens the door for deeper learning and discussion and also gives back to a great cause?
Pivotal, a nonprofit that focuses exclusively on meeting the educational and career needs of foster youth, is inviting families from across the country to submit art pieces (using chalk, crayons, watercolors, finger paint, whatever!) that show foster youth just how much they are loved and supported.
Here’s how it works:
- Pick a word or phrase to complete this sentiment to foster youth: “You are __________.” Any expression of encouragement, kindness, or motivation is welcome.
- Create your own artwork using any medium you’d like. Sidewalk chalk, digital drawings, photography, paintings, color by number – we love it all.
- Take a picture of your art and upload.
- Follow us on social media @Pivotalnow so that you catch our post of the beautiful digital quilt created for our scholars.
Any aged child or adult is welcome! Once complete, all pieces will be digitally stitched together into a virtual quilt of kindness and support.
