I had a chance to interview him to learn more.

Why is it important to look at setbacks as opportunities for a comeback?

It is important to look at setbacks as opportunities for come backs because that gives you the willpower and the energy to learn  how to be resilient!
In every interview with CEOs (about how to handle the setbacks of business) and in
every story where someone is able to bounce back from a personal setbacks,  we see resilience in action.
Resilience is both a mindset and a skill set.
You can learn to be resilient.  It starts with your thinking.
Without resilience, there are no comeback stories.
And all comebacks start with a desire to not let the setback (whatever it may be),
have the final say in your life!
And once you are able to learn how to be resilient,
you'll discover everyone loves a good comeback story!

How can people shift their attitude into looking for opportunities instead of what was lost?

Fill up with the pure, the positive and the powerful.
Your input (what you accept into your consciousness)
typically determines your output or what radiates from you.
And these are the people who win the most in life!
In my book, A Setback Is A Setup For A Comeback,
I write that there are three types of people…the quitter, the camper and the climber.
The quitters look at the mountain (the obstacle) in front of them and quit before even trying to tackle it.
The campers start up the mountain, and then get to base camp so they can renew and re-energize.
Then things get good at base camp and they get a car and an apartment and end up staying there for 40 years.
Yet, the climbers get to base camp and renew and re-energize, then they get back to work on their dream to reach the summit.
They have to go through cold, and wet, and avalanches and many other obstacles, yet they refuse to quit.
They are the ones who get to the top of the mountain. They reach the summit!
They are people like Oprah, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.
They refuse to quit and they tend to win over and over again.
Why?  They have the mindset and have developed the skill set of being resilient!

What kinds of comebacks could people use this time for?

This is an amazing time for creating life changing comebacks. If you study history, you will see that many of the great comebacks
came during economic down times–Disney, Uber, Google, Facebook, Microsoft and GE–they  all started in times of economic depression or recession.
And those companies were started by people who looked for the opportunities in the midst of the challenge moments.
And just as they did it, so can you!
In my book, Turn Setbacks Into Greenbacks, I tell about a man during the Depression named Charles Darrow, who lost everything in the Stock Market crash.
Yet, he refused to give up and stayed positive and created a board game to help people feel better. The goal was to help people feel like they were rich. And the game went on to sell millions of copies–and the game still sells today. It's called Monopoly!
Now is your time to win!
The key is having a comeback mindset and developing a comeback skillset.
I encourage you to read the stories and the lessons in both my books: A Setback Is A Setup For A Comeback and Turn Setbacks Into Greenbacks, so you too can develop that mindset. Then learn how to work on the skillset you will be able to use to turn your setbacks into amazing comebacks!
