Book Nook: Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure

For many kids, the loss of a pet is a heartbreaking milestone in the bumpy road towards growing up. Author Patti Carpenter honors her own furry sidekick in her first children’s book and teaches young readers about the power of love and loss in Cosmo’s Cosmic Adventure

Cosmo’s Cosmic Adventure features heartwarming illustrations from award-winning illustrator Tracy Hill, who has been creating humorous and whimsical characters since 1989. By sharing Cosmo’s inspiring story, Patti Carpenter hopes to teach young readers how to navigate a powerful lesson in loving, living, and learning to let go.

From long drives in Patti’s convertible, to fragrant trips to the local flower shop, Cosmo and Patti do everything together for sixteen years. Written from Cosmo’s perspective, this colorful narrative for young readers offers a cosmic lens to help children understand loss and grief—and learn to love unconditionally.
