Book Nook: In Search of Wisdom (Proverbs)

I recently had a chance to review Joyce Meyer’s new book on Proverbs, In Search of Wisdom, While I don't always agree with everything she writes theologically, I thought this book provided a good basic guide to the Proverbs.

The book of Proverbs contains a wealth of wisdom, with many short sayings that combine to make longer chapters on a theme. Joyce Meyer's book helpfully lays out the organization of this book, with brief summaries of each chapter. Too often we read the Proverbs as distinct sayings, and like many Bible verses they can sometimes be taken out of context. This book provides some context and pattern to the book and makes it a little easier to digest in sections.

For people who already know the book of Proverbs well, there won't be much new information here. However, for those who only know the Proverbs as a few sayings and want to dive a little deeper, this book can be useful.
