“DivaMoms Getaway Weekend” will hold its second retreat May 21-23rd at the serene Tyler Hill Camp in the Poconos. The weekend sabbatical will once again treat busy mothers to three-days of pampering in a picture-esque country setting, complete with morning yoga, five-star cuisine, meditation, acupuncture, “wine and tie-dye” sessions, arts and crafts, cooking classes, dessert-making with master chef, hiking, golf, tennis cycling and other activities to charge your soul, rest your mind and fill your hearts. Oh, and did we mention wine? Bottoms up, ladies!
“Moms have had quite a year, and we deserve a weekend for ourselves,” said DivaMoms creator Lyss Stern. “We’re CEOs of our family, but we haven’t had a vacation. This is it. Our weekend getaway is just what we need after months of home-schooling, lock downs, child-care and managing our homes. Siblings, fathers, friends -- this is the best gift you can give moms this Mother’s Day.”
Hosting the “DivaMoms Getaway Weekend” is Tyler Hill Camp, a scenic country escape spread over 220 lush acres of nature at its most beautiful. The grounds, which include a luxurious Inn, main house with private rooms and “bunking” facilities, is a favorite destination for family reunions, weddings, team-building experiences, special weekend birthday gatherings, not to mention its premiere 7-week summer sleep-away camp program for kids. Tyler Hill’s location, deep in the Poconos, provides all its guests with an immersive, secluded and tranquil escape away from city bustle and everyday stress. The grounds also include two lakes, a nine-hole golf course, 12 tennis courts, modern fitness center and in-door cycling studio.
“DivaMoms Getaway Weekend” is personal for Stern, a mother of three who contracted COVID last year and is still dealing with symptoms as a “long hauler.” After a year of illness, taking care of her family, launching new businesses and just surviving day-to-day, she needed a break. And realized there were women just like her dealing with the same experiences.”
“This literally kept me sane,” said Stern. “Being with like-minded women far away from life healed my soul in so many unexpected ways.”
I had a chance to learn more in this interview:
Why is it important for moms to take some time for themselves, especially if they don't typically think about self-care?Moms are the glue that hold families together. When they don’t take care of themselves, they can’t give their all to their families. Even moms that don’t typically think about self-care have learned more than ever during this pandemic how truly important and valuable it is.How can retreats and getaways be beneficial?Retreats and getaways create a safe escape for moms to relax, rejuvenate, and catch their breath. It gives them the chance to connect with other moms, share experiences, laugh and cry with no judgement, while also giving them a break from their fast-paced life at home. How have moms been uniquely affected by Covid over the past year?Moms have been uniquely affected by Covid because they have had to maintain their role as “mom”…and then some. They have had to take on the role of mother, teacher, entertainer, coach and 24/7 caretaker, while also managing their careers and sharing work spaces with their spouses. This unexpected turn of events have taken away moms’ abilities to focus on their own well-being.
“DivaMoms Getaway Weekend” is offering three distinct packages for the two-night stay, immersive of all experiences:

“Main House” ($1200per person, includes private room/ bathroom in a four-story manor house overlooking the grounds)
“Inn at Tyler Hill” ($1600), which includes accommodations at the boutique hotel, on par with The Ritz-Carlton.
Guests are invited to extend their stay by an additional night, with an additional $100 night fee.
