Movie Minute: FilmRise June Marathon

It’s June and summer has officially begun! While the beach is great and all, sweating every day in the rising temperatures certainly is not. So why not treat yourselves to some amazing free TV and movie marathons in the sweet, sweet A/C?

This month, we’ve got a wide variety of  programming to help beat the heat, including a marathon of the longest-running CBC family series “Heartland,” a multi-generational family saga taking place in Alberta, Canada. There’s also a marathon of the classic 1950s western “The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp,” starring Hugh O’Brien as the titular character. We’re also giving you the opportunity to live in nature vicariously through our hero Bear Grylls, with a marathon of “Bear Grylls’ Survival School.”

There are also a few fan-favorite returning marathons, including  MD TV, a line-up of our favorite medical comedies and dramas, Full Moon Madness, a binge-worthy roster of werewolf movies during the full moon and an updated iteration of our Black Cinema Marathon in honor of Juneteenth. This time we added the FilmRise title SPRINTER, an award winning sports drama starring David Alan Grier and Lorraine Toussaint and produced by Jada and Will Smith.
