Fun Freetime: Alchemy Emporium

My family recently had the opportunity to review Alchemy Emporium available on Steam for Windows.

It is a fantasy managerial of an alchemy emporium. A simple game, it hides complex mechanics inside. In this game, the developers wanted to keep faith in our philosophy, which is to try to innovate, a task that we believe belongs to independent video games. They have included new mechanics and a new game system, which seeks to introduce truly unique elements that can only be found in Alchemy Emporium.

Here is a short list of the main features of Alchemy Emporium:
- Dragons, Imps, Skeletons, Ravens and many other helpers can be hired on the appropriate game screen and will support your activities;
- Events, Quests and dynamic weather will make each game session different from the previous one;
- The progression of the character is based on the reading of the books, once purchased they can be read in order to level up and unlock over 220 different talents; - The goals of business partners are generated parametrically and can reach up to 1 million different alternatives, you're spoilt for choice! - Through sabotage you can try to gain an advantage from competitors by sending henchmen, but you will not have to be discovered, otherwise there will be trouble!

My younger daughter is the gamer in the family, so this is what she had to say.
  • My first impression was that the tutorial seemed too long at the start, but usually I don't like tutorials, I prefer just quick info cards or tips. I thought the graphics were pretty good.As I kept playing, I thought it was a little confusing, but probably because I didn't pay attention at the tutorial. I did start to figure it out though and then it got more interesting to try different combinations. I really liked the graphics and thought it was a unique idea.

My older daughter actually loves fantasy and more creative games, so here is her review.
  • I loved the game. The graphics were great and I like the fantasy element. I love world-building and this was a lot like that. It was fun and if I created a game it would probably be something like this. I like this kind of game better than shooter games because I can be more creative and inspired. I enjoyed hiring the helpers and following the quests, and I enjoyed how the game wasn't always the same.
If you're curious, you can get more of a taste of the game in the trailer below.
