Enriching Education: 3 Ways to Get Your Child Excited for School This Year

For the past year, parents and children have gotten used to a remote way of living—online school and remote work have meant more time at home with each other. As the new school year is in full swing, the transition back to in-person learning can be difficult for kids and parents. If you’re having trouble getting your kids used to this back-to-school transition, here are a few tips to help get them excited and back into the swing of things:

1. Get them involved in packing their lunch

Not only does teaching your child how to pack their own lunch teach them about responsibility and healthy habits, but it’s also a great way to get them excited about school the next day if their lunch is packed with some of their favorite things! Have your child help you prep and pack their lunch the night before school so they’re excited to grab it on the way out the door the next day!

2. Let them pick out new school supplies

One of the joys of back to school is taking your kids shopping for brand new school supplies. Have them pick out a new school bag, pencils, folders, notebooks and a new lunchbox. This is a sure way to get them excited to go back to school and something they might’ve missed out on during remote learning!

3. Brighten their day with lunchbox notes

You’ve got them excited to get to school with an awesome lunch and new school supplies, but how about when they’re actually at school? The perfect way to add a sweet midday surprise is by packing a sweet and inspiring note in their lunchbox to let them know you’re thinking of them! Download these inspiring lunch notes here to give them a motivational message or let them know your favorite things about them or how they inspire you by downloading one of the prompted lunchbox notes here

Going back to school can be a huge transition, especially after the year we’ve had. Doing these little things to help get your child excited about going back to school is a sure way to set them up for a successful school year.
