Music MInute: Five Key Elements of Publishing Deals with Chuck Allen Floyd

 Discover Sooner, the company seeking to accelerate attention of publishers to songwriters, has announced Five Key Elements of Publishing Deals with Chuck Allen Floyd to be held on Wednesday, September 8 at 5pm CDT. The free Zoom event is aimed at songwriters, artists, publishers and industry professionals of all levels. Chuck Allen Floyd negotiated his first entertainment deal by booking his own band into a bar Chuck was too young to enter. He has not stopped negotiating since. In the 30 years since Chuck’s first gig at the Rivermist Tavern in Konawa, Oklahoma, Chuck had worked as a staff songwriter for Clint Black’s Blacktop Music Group, as an independent publisher at his own company, and as a performer and president of his own indie label, sharing the stage with artists ranging from Dweezil Zappa to Luke Bryan and Guy Clark.

Chuck eventually shifted his focus to the business side.
