Amazing Art: Peaceful Protectors

Los Angeles based artist, author and business owner Real Weng releases her first Color Collection titled “The Peaceful Protectors.” “The Peaceful Protectors” features 15 oriental mythical characters turned into 30 floral integrated unique coloring pages and an additional introduction page of the specific character with each image hand drawn by Real Weng. Just in time for the holidays this coloring collection makes the perfect gift for all ages!

Being born and raised in Taiwan, Weng found the charm of Asian mythology. Weng stated, “I love how each mythical character comforts the believers. The idea of creating this book was to bring out your inner balance while you are concentrating on coloring those peaceful characters with no limit of time and no definition of art. While I was creating it, I loved to listen to chant music with a peaceful mind and infuse all of my blessings into this book to bring serenity to fellow artists.”

You can learn more in this interview.

Why did you create this book?
-I love the idea of how each mythical character comforts the believers. It was my desire to transfer that sensation through my handcrafted designs for the audience to experience a unique coloring theme and style. Even a single drop of color could make it beautiful art.

Where did you get the inspiration for your art?
-The inspiration of my art is derived from my zeal and appreciation of life itself and through my travel experiences. I have had the good fortune of being able to travel throughout the world. Those experiences exposed me to unique and varying cultures which impacted my life considerably. Hence, seeing the world through different sets of lenses instilled within me a passion and desire to express my vision through art.

How can it be beneficial for people who enjoy coloring to look for a wide range of artists, styles, and sources of inspiration?

-Exposure to multiple artists, styles and sources of information can significantly influence and guide a person's creativity. Uncovering one's imagination and translating their vision through coloring and enhanced by being exposed to others who have already expressed their artistic talent.

What did you like best about creating this book?
-My philosophy is that focus and concentration can clear the mind especially when the focus is ones on work product. I relished the serenity and peacefulness that I experienced during the time that I was creating this book as I felt unlimited and unyielding inspiration. It is my sincere desire that the audience of my book experience similar emotions and inspiration whether glancing through it or coloring pages within it.
