Area Attractions: WonderWorks Fall Programming (Pigeon Forge, Panama Beach, Syracuse)

 WonderWorks is making sure the fall season is a special time to visit the upside-down house. The beloved family attraction will be offering several new fall programs and exhibits, giving guests a chance to learn more about science, share their artistic abilities, and engage with the community. This fall, WonderWorks is hosting its second annual art contest, National STEM Day activities and a new Saturdays in Space virtual Q&A series.

WonderWorks Pigeon Forge is always on a mission to engage their guests and community, and there are a variety of ways people can get involved this fall, including:

 

• SMART: The Smoky Mountain Youth Art Gallery will be hosting its second round of applications, giving young artists a chance to show off their artistic abilities. This year’s theme is “Imagination.” Applications are currently open, with the submission deadline being Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Winners will have their work on display in the gallery and will receive free tickets to WonderWorks to see their work. Applications are online. • Saturdays in Space – WonderWorks is hosting their “Ask an Astronaut” Q&A series every Saturday during the month of October 2021. During this program, Dr. Don Thomas, a former NASA astronaut, will be answering questions that were submitted by students and teachers in the community. Viewers will get a chance to learn more about space and what it’s like to be an astronaut through this series. • National STEM Day – Held on Monday, November 8, 2021, WonderWorks Pigeon Forge will be celebrating the day by offering a variety of fun science labs and experiments throughout the building. These labs will focus on exploring the principles of pressure, temperature, density, origami, and more. For the second year in a row, guests will be able to celebrate National STEM Day at the upside-down house with the other 100 hands-on exhibits offered all year long.
• Field Trips – Fall is a great time to plan an educational field trip to WonderWorks Pigeon Forge, giving students hands-on learning experiences and the ability to make a connection to their science curriculum in the classroom. Students and families have a variety of ways to engage at WonderWorks Panama Beach this fall, including with these new programs and exhibits:

 

• FLO-ART: This fall, WonderWorks will be opening applications for its North Florida Youth Art Gallery. This year’s theme is “Imagination.” Submissions are currently being accepted online only. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, December 15, 2021. • Saturdays in Space – Every Saturday during October, guests and followers will get the chance to learn more about life in space and the career of an astronaut through the Ask an Astronaut Q&A series. To highlight the importance of STEM, there will be fun science labs and experiments throughout the building all day on Monday, November 8, 2021. • CNY Art – The WonderWorks Art Contest is now accepting submissions for its 2022 art gallery. For the second year, the contest’s theme is “Imagination.” The application deadline is Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Local artists will have their work displayed at WonderWorks for a whole year, and the winners will receive complimentary tickets to visit the gallery to see their work on display. • Saturdays in Space – WonderWorks is hosting Saturdays in Space every Saturday during the month of October. • National STEM Day – In honor of National STEM Day, WonderWorks Syracuse will honor the importance of STEM by offering guests fun science labs and experiments to participate in throughout the building on Saturday, November 6. The labs will give people a chance to explore the principles of pressure, temperature, density, origami, and more. These special programs will be available in addition to the over 100 hands-on interactive exhibits offered yearlong.
