Consumer Critique: Bubble Tree Bubbles

Bubbles are fun. I seriously don't think you can ever be too old to enjoy bubbles. I enjoyed blowing them for my kids, and I've enjoyed seeing people blow bubbles in parks and public areas when we've traveled. I had a chance to see some Bubble Tree bubbles to review.

Bubbles have been around forever, but Bubble Tree bubbles are a little different - they're an eco-friendly, sustainable bubble system with a non-toxic solution made in the USA. It focuses on refillable smaller containers so parents don't end up with dozens of bubble wants and containers. They've even won awards for their packaging and design from Mom's Choice, IF, Dieline, and American Specialty Toy Retailing Association.

My kids were delighted to have bubbles in the house again - it had been a while. They loved using them, and I loved sharing them with our friends as well! The refill system was great - it saved bubbles from as much spill, the integrated bubble wand/lid meant less bubble solution all over hands. Overall, great design that is better than traditional bubble options!

Not only are bubbles fun for all ages, but they can be beneficial too. I had a chance to interview president Susan Kort Wasserman to learn more.

How does blowing bubbles help build skills children need?

Bubbles are a favorite toy amongst children of all ages, but aside from the simple fun of blowing, watching, or even popping bubbles, it is a great activity that parents can use at home to stimulate development and personal connection. Bubbles can help build the following skills:

CONNECTION
When a parent and a child attend to the same activity, they are engaging in joint or shared attention. Being able to establish and sustain joint attention is vital for developing social communication and cognitive skills.

EYE CONTACT
Bubbles are one of the most enjoyable activities that encourage eye contact.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
When a child is already using words, bubbles can help to expand their language skills.

TRANSITION
Bubbles can be a great activity when transitioning children to one activity or another. Before meals or bathtime, establish a routine of blowing bubbles! It can be a fun way to connect and to prepare your child for what is coming up next in your daily routine.

TURN TAKING
Taking turns blowing bubbles with a child can strengthen important communication skills such as reciprocity.

Bubbles are truly a “people toy” which engages both adults and children in playful and valuable activities.

What makes bubbles so appealing to kids?

The art of blowing a bubble is fascinating for a child. No two bubbles are alike and their shape and sizes are always different. Kids love to run after them, watch them float high into the air or pop right in front of them or on the ground. Once a bubble forms, kids also love to see the vibrant colors that appear when they are positioned in the sun.

What are some creative ways families can enjoy bubbles as a whole family activity?

Aside from simply blowing bubbles as a family, our bubble solution can be used in other forms. Children, along with their family members, can add food coloring to create amazing artwork by simply blowing the color infused bubbles onto a canvas or by dipping pipe cleaners into the solution and using it like a paint brush.  Our solution is also an amazing agent for creating the ever popular slime. Lastly, there is nothing more fun for a child than blowing bubbles while in the tub.
