Consumer Critique: Collage.com

My kids absolutely love art. My older daughter especially is constantly doodling and drawing - and she's really good. We can't possibly keep all of it. I had a chance to try out a fun new way to preserve kids' art to make great products for your home or gifts for family.

Collage.com is launching a new feature to cherish -- and share-- your children's precious artwork for many years to come. Simply take a photo of your child’s masterpiece and upload it to the Kids Art section of Collage.com to create custom photo canvases, pillows, mugs, blankets and more. Not only does this honor your kid’s talents, it celebrates and preserves a moment in time. Also… there is just something aesthetically pleasing about a child’s world view as expressed in drawings.

Obviously if you only take a picture of one drawing, this could actually take up more space - but the beauty of the site is that you can upload multiple pieces of art for a single gift. This way your kid knows that their art was used to make something, and it doesn't all have to take up space on your fridge! I got a pillow with one of my daughter's mixed media art works on it, and I was really impressed with the quality - the print is true to the original colors, and the fabric is super soft! It's a fun gift idea for those families members who appreciate your kids' art - or for your kids themselves, to see their art in a different way!
