More drawing books! My daughter was really excited to get an early Christmas present (or late birthday present) when I got to review The Art and Science of Drawing - Learn to Observe, Analyze, and Draw Any Subject. She already has quite a few drawing books but always likes to see more.
This book is written with a great philosophy - anyone can draw. That gives me hope, because despite getting to see a lot of drawing books, I'm still not that great at it. However, with persistence, I'm getting better, and books like this help.
The author combines a variety of drawing techniques for his own style. The book is well-written because it takes readers and artists through the learning process, started with basic and simple drawings and moving on to more advanced texture and shading. Even accomplished artists can benefit from going back to the basics once in a while, and this book also works well for beginning artists who have the time and desire to take their drawing to the next level.
