Although I'm happily married, I was still interested in reviewing Single Women and Money, a book about managing finances that specific targets single women.
No matter what your stage in life, this book can be helpful. If your spouse manages all the money, or you're currently on your own and trying to juggle bills, this book can help you make sense of it all.
It covers a variety of topics, including saving and spending, children, debt and investment, planning for the future, and more. It also helps women explore what matters to them when they're making financial choices. It's relatable, because it uses stories of real women who are struggling with money issues that have a greater impact on single women. It also makes it achievable to plan for both day-to-day and long-term goals.
Beyond the practical, the authors also have a larger societal message in the way that society can assist single women. Even though we're not there yet, it is nice to think about ways that as a society we can be more supportive of each other.
The book is well-written, easy to read, and easy to understand. It's a great handbook for anyone who finds themselves dealing with managing money alone.
