Book Nook: Cook with Me

 To say Elisabetta Astolfi has created a unique children’s book series would be an understatement. As a Pharmacologist and Cordon Bleu Haute Cuisine Diploma qualified chef, Astolfi is passionate about not just delicious food, but helping children understand how nutrients and sustainability are the building blocks of their wellbeing.


 

Her new ‘Cook with Me’ series is remarkable. On one side it’s an opportunity to engage with food in a unique way (and get creative in the kitchen!), while on the other a rare opportunity to discover the origins and “stories” of ingredients that will soon be prominent in their lives.

  

The series ‘Cook with Me’ is a magical voyage through the world of cookery. It is designed to enthuse children (and their parents) with the joy of food and impress upon them the supreme importance of nutrients. Through the science of ingredients, the origins of flavours, and the history of recipes, the reader can imagine himself on an enchanting trip, meeting ingredient ‘visitors’ en route who will make food and cooking fun.

“There’s no better way for parents to bond with their children than in the kitchen, while all learning together,” explains the author. “If we can educate children about food and sustainability in the right way, we can forge good, healthy habits that will last a lifetime. I wanted to help develop this appreciation and love for healthy eating by welcoming children on a whimsical and fascinating trip with the world’s flavours, the science of nutrients and keeping our global food ecosystem sustainable.”

 

Continuing, “There’s also great value to be had in the classroom or cookery club, as my books can be enjoyed as a group – in a collaborative environment. My own children have been my fiercest critics and taste-testers, and they love it!”

About the Author:

 

A true culinary visionary - Elisabetta taught cookery in London’s primary schools for seven years, conveying a positive energy and enthusiasm to the children. It didn’t only inspire the children, but also empowered Elisabetta to pursue writing children’s books.

 

The author has a degree Pharmacology, and is a Cordon Bleu Haute Cuisine Diploma qualified chef – skills that perfectly equip her to craft such a unique book series.

 

She is the mother of two lovely children, Albi and Gilbi – her biggest fans and harshest critics!
