Consumer Critique: Beasts of Balance

I recently had a chance to review  Beasts of Balance, an game of strategy and balance in which you build a tower of beautifully designed animals on your tabletop, then help them evolve in a connected digital world on your phone or tablet.

If you like Jenga or Pokémon (or both) then this family-friendly game will be a hit. I like Jenga, and so do my girls, and they definitely love their online games as well. Plus, my older daughter absolutely loves things with an animal theme. So we were excited to review the game, and we weren't disappointed.

The game is cooperative, and can even be played alone. Players take turns stacking, then the animals show up on the screen and start to evolve as the game continues. The artistic appeal is definitely high - my older daughter was intrigued by the art style. I liked that it had the appeal of an app game but required real-life interaction too. The game can be played by players of pretty much any age.

Beasts of Balance is available on
Amazon as well as the company’s website for $89. The Beasts of Balance website also has exclusive special editions for purchase, as well as epic beast add-ons like FancyPrance: The Fabulous Unicorn or Moby Brick: The Space Whale.
