Website Spotlight: Lifewit on Amazon*

 *Disclosure: Sponsored post

Have you ever heard of Lifewit? They sell a lot of bedding products on Amazon. They have sheet sets in a variety of sizes, sink-in pillows, memory foam pillows, and mattress protectors. Mattress protectors really come in handy.

We have mattress protectors on all our beds. You never know what kinds of things might happen. Sometimes it's spills. Sometimes it's accidents (especially with younger kids). Sometimes with older girls, they're surprised by their period or it starts overnight or pads shift (honestly, sometimes this happens with adults too). Or maybe someone is sick and doesn't wake up in time to go to the bathroom. Whatever the case is, mattress protectors are really super helpful. It's nearly impossible to properly wash a mattress once liquid has sunk into it, so mattress protectors help keep the liquid from sinking into the mattress in the first place. There are a lot of mattress protectors that are comfortable and still waterproof - they don't have to be crinkly and plastic.

Microfiber sheets are really comfortable too. There are a lot of kinds of sheets that work well - we use flannel in the winter, and cooler weave sheets in the summer. In Minnesota it's important to have both options since the temperature can vary widely from season to season, even using air conditioning and heating.

Lots of mattresses nowadays are deep - ours definitely is. That's why I appreciate that companies like Lifewit sell sheets with deep pockets. They actually stay put on our bed, not like sheets with standard pockets. We've had some fitted sheets that if we barely move, they pop off the corners. My girls have skinnier mattresses - especially the daughter that sleeps in the top bunk - but deep pocket fitted sheets work well for them too. They pop onto the mattress more easily, and it's nice if they don't come off since it's harder to make a bed in a bunk bed.

There are a lot of things that I look for when I'm looking for bedding. The color is nice, but not important. I like it when it matches the room because our pillows always show, but not very many people end up in our bedroom so it's not a top priority. Lifewit does have several different colors, including lots of neutrals that will match any room.

I also look for the fabric. I like flannel or microfiber or regular cotton. I've used silk before and it is nice and cool in the winter but I'm not a huge fan of the slippery feel - especially when I'm wearing silk or satin pajamas, then I slide around the bed too much.

Price is a factor too. The Lifewit options are definitely a decent price. My husband works for a non-profit and I work as a teacher so our budget tends to be tight and we need to make sure the products we're purchasing are a good value - that doesn't always mean cheapest, but it does need to have a good price to quality factor. If we're going to spend more, we want to make sure it'll last for a while.

I explored the Amazon store a little bit and Lifewit doesn't just have sheets. They have a lot of products for the home too. You can find rugs, lunch bags, and storage options (I should check out more of their options there for our newly finished basement). They also have a page that talks more about the brand itself, which is nice if you like to find out about the brand and the story behind it.

What are your favorite styles and types of bedding to buy? What do you look for in bedding?
