Caring Causes: Raising Cane's and Lemonade Day

Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, the Louisiana-based restaurant company known for its ONE LOVE® – craveable chicken finger meals – is continuing its national partnership with Lemonade Day, a non-profit organization that helps our youth build character and empower them to achieve their dreams.

Raising Cane’s is providing a $180,000 sponsorship over three-years to support Lemonade Day’s goals to bring its innovative, youth entrepreneurship program to one million kids annually in all parts of the world with the help of a new digital platform called My Lemonade Day. With the My Lemonade Day app, children everywhere are taught how to start, own and operate their very own business – that quintessential youth small business of a lemonade stand.

Raising Cane’s Founder & CEO Todd Graves helped bring Lemonade Day to Louisiana in 2011. Since then, Raising Cane’s restaurants across the country have been actively involved in supporting and promoting the organization. Once again, Raising Cane’s will be stirring up success for youth entrepreneurs interested in participating in Lemonade Day.

Established in 2007, Lemonade Day teaches kids how to start their own small business through the powerful experience of hosting a lemonade stand in their community. The My Lemonade Day app equips kids with a “recipe for sweet success” in the form of animated, interactive lessons that focus on goal setting, business planning, financial management, marketing and sales skills development, product development, customer service, character education, and charitable giving. The My Lemonade Day app is currently available in English and Spanish.

“We are so grateful to Todd and Raising Cane’s for expanding their support of Lemonade Day through a robust three-year partnership,” commented Nicole Cassier-Mason, Lemonade Day National CEO. “The pandemic has underscored the gaps in education and workforce readiness. We are very fortunate to work with the dedicated Raising Cane’s team at corporate and in the local communities to inspire an entrepreneurial spirit in kids across the country.”

Raising Cane’s will offer 1000 free seats to the My Lemonade Day app for budding entrepreneurs who do not live within a Lemonade Day licensed city. The app is available for download and the lessons, exercises, and business plans can be completed offline without the need for WiFi connectivity. Parents can register their children at raisingcanes.com/lemonade-day or lemonadeday.org/raisingcanes.

“I began my entrepreneurial journey as a child when I ran a lemonade stand in my front yard,” Graves said. “I’m passionate about the Lemonade Day program because it introduces thousands of kids to business each year. This is our next generation of entrepreneurs, business leaders, volunteers and more, so I’m excited that this program can give participants their first taste of business.”
