I recently have the chance to see a few books from Bushel & Peck's series of books designed for parents and kids together. The series includes such titles as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Peter Pan, among other well-known titles.
Designed for middle grade readers, the books take more or less 20 minutes a day, depending on reading fluency. Each passage also includes questions to help increase comprehension and encourage discussion. This can allow younger readers to develop thoughtfulness and critical thinking around literature, as well as provide a great non-screen activity for adults and kids to enjoy together.
