Rising Country artist Emily Miller has released a music video for her cover of the 1989 Alannah Myles hit “Black Velvet.” The video was filmed at Stormlight Picture Studio in Nashville with director Logan Christopher. Guitar and vocals were provided by Nick Champeau.
Emily often was told the the song “Black Velvet” would sound great in her voice, but she wasn’t familiar with the song. One day a friend asked her to learn the song for him and she ended up falling in love with it. After finding out the song was about Elvis Presley, it allowed her to connect with the song on another level and bring out a different side of her performance and vocals. Now she never turns down an opportunity to sing it. With the music video, it was Emily’s goal to have an 80s feel, from the outfit to the set background, and she believes they did just that.
“It was great working with Logan and the entire team at Stormlight Pictures again,” exclaimed Emily Miller. “We first worked together in the making of my first music video for ‘Take the Trash Out’ and I love seeing his creative visions come to life each time. I trust his visions and just let him do his thing much like he has always let me do mine,” she added.
