You can learn more in this interview:
Tell us a bit about yourself! Your career, hobbies, a book you love - anything you’d like to share.I’ve been writing forever, and finally in the last 15 years have started getting published in my favorite category—children’s books.
I love creative things: writing, music, art, photography. And I love the peace of being in nature and the beauty of natural things. Kayaking is a hobby of mine because it’s so peaceful bobbing on the lovely water. (I don’t do rapids!) I’m a big fan of travel and cats, not in that order.
What motivated you to become an author?Books! I love books. They take you other places, they are a comfort, they are beautiful, they share hope. I wanted to be a part of that.
What was your first impression of the art Jaclyn Sinquett created for Cadence and Kittenfish: A Mermaid Tale? I was overjoyed! Jaclyn captured the adorableness of the characters with beauty and humor and wonderful colors.
Do you have any tips for aspiring authors? Read as many books as you can get your hands on. Practice your craft, and learn from writing experts how to write better. Persevere.
Do you have any pets? Over the years, I’ve had a wide variety of pets. But now we are sticking with cats. Three of them. Katniss is the oldest. Her little brothers, Calvin and Hobbes, have been with us since just before the pandemic started and keep us entertained. You can see them in reels on my Instagram, @judith.l.roth.
