Did you know that Dr. Seuss books aren't just for fun rhyming stories (that often have a lesson , like The Lorax or Yertle the Turtle) or classics like The Cat in the Hat? There are other themed books to help your kids learn in new ways, like Cook It! The Dr. Seuss Cookbook for Kid Chefs, a cookbook to help kids feel more confident in the kitchen; or Dr. Seuss's Horse Museum, which takes a look at how artists have viewed horses.
I also had a chance to review a couple Dr. Seuss Workbooks. The workbooks are available for kids Pre-K through grade 3, either books that combine a variety of subjects or books that focus just on one skill. As a teacher and tutor, I think there are definitely some great things to like about these workbooks - they have fun, kid-friendly illustrations, and they cover things that traditional workbooks don't, like early science topics, emotions, and more. The books will need a little more adult intervention than some workbooks, especially the lower grades or students that have weaker reading skills. But overall I liked them and they were a great addition to my tutoring this summer!
