I recently had a chance to review an extremely unique candle, created by Black and queer owned CTOAN Co.. CTOAN's candles are hand poured, trans inclusive, and gender-free, coming in seven diverse body configurations.
The candles are extremely detailed sculptures of the human body - one butt and the rest from shoulders to upper thighs. I am amazed at just how lifelike they are, stretch marks and all.
The Sweater Weather collection comes in a limited edition burnt orange color, with three scents: Toasted Pumpkin Spic, White Musk and Cedar, Campfire Marshmallow.
Don't want a body candle, but still want to support the company? CTOAN is offering a limited edition 8 oz. soy matte stonewashed glass jar candle with a crackling wood wick for the ultimate fall experience.
With a focus on supporting others, each seasonal collection goes to support a cause connected to the collection’s theme. $2 from every Sweater Weather collection candle sold will be donated to Option-U, an emergency housing and resource program for queer people ages 18 - 35, prioritizing people of trans experience.
So far this year, CTOAN has donated $1881 to nonprofits and mutual aid funds including the Midwest Access Coalition, the Last Prisoner Project and the Black Trans Travel Fund.
CTOAN Co is a Black, queer owned candle company based in Milwaukee, WI. Founded by Jodyann Morgan in November of 2021, it quickly became an internet sensation, with many prominent plus size, Black, and LGBT influencers sharing the candles on their platform. Best known for gender free body sculpture candles that are size fat, CTOAN also offers tealights, wax melts and luxurious jarred candles. CTOAN prides itself in giving back to the community with a portion of sales from every collection donated to various causes. www.ctoanco.com
