Consumer Critique: Tipshopping Felt Christmas Tree

I recently had a chance to see a holiday product with a cute concept - a flat felt Christmas tree that can hang on the wall, to be decorated with felt ornaments. It also came with a countdown to Christmas sign.

There were some great things about the concept. When it's not Christmas, the tree and ornaments come with a case that they can be folded up into. It works for places without much space, like apartments or small bedrooms, because it's right up against the wall. It's easy for kids to decorate and move ornaments around even while it's on the wall - nothing is breakable or anything. The countdown to Christmas can also help kids build anticipation and see the holiday get closer.

The biggest downside was the folding - even though it improves portability and storage, it did leave creases that you can see in the photo. There are ways to minimize the creasing - roll/fold it backwards, store it folded differently, ironing at a low temperature, fastening the corners directly to the wall - so it's still a cute product, but if I had made it I might have made the felt less rigid so that the creasing didn't happen as much at all.

If you're looking for a flat Christmas tree that doesn't take up much space and is easy and safe for kids to decorate, this can definitely be a viable option. We'll definitely keep it around and use it in spaces that we want to be decorated for the holidays but also little-kid friendly.
