Music Minute: Lily Rose - Whatcha Know About That

Groundbreaking country artist Lily Rose returns with brand-new track “Whatcha Know About That,” available everywhere today. Showcasing her country tendencies and swagger like never before, Lily playfully paints a picture of what a laid-back southern lifestyle would look like in hopes of catching the attention of a new love interest. The track written by Dave Pittenger, Jonathan Hutcherson, Sydney Cubit, and Miranda Glory drops with an all-new music video set in the Tennessee countryside, out now.

“'Whatcha Know About That' is different from anything else I've cut with my record label, Big Loud, to date. It has a Keith Urban-sounding, boot-stomping energy to it that hopefully gives the listener the perfect windows-down, falling in love feeling,” reflects Rose. “The second I heard the demo I knew this song was going to be beyond fun to play live!”

“Whatcha Know About That” comes nearly a year after her Oct. 2021 introductory project Stronger Than I Am which garnered praise from Billboard, People, American Songwriter and more. With her signature knack for “approachable lyrics and hooky production,” (MusicRow) Rose turned a page in her musical journey this summer with the “remorseful banger” (Billboard) “I'd Be You” in June before following up with the barstool ballad “In My Drinks” in July.

Turning heads nationwide with her “expansive soundscape” (American Songwriter), Rose completed headlining stops across the West Coast before joining country megastar Sam Hunt for select dates this summer. This Friday, Rose kicked off Dylan Scott's Amen To That Tour on Oct. 7 at Midnight Rodeo in Springfield, MoReturning to the same stages she was opening just last year, Rose will stop in Chicago, Ill. at Joe's Live for a headlining show with rising artist Jordan Fletcher on Nov. 11.

ABOUT LILY ROSE
Words like “groundbreaking” and “trailblazing” are often overused. But for Big Loud Records / Back Blocks Music and Republic Records country star Lily Rose, they may actually be an understatement. The modern expression of country's most treasured ideal – pure, unflinching honesty – her debut hit “Villain” has revealed Rose as a talent both 100-percent unique and utterly relatable, with a fresh perspective and forward-looking sound. A Georgia native whose inspirations range from Bruce Springsteen to Keith Urban and Katy Perry, Rose broke out in 2020 with the viral smash, “Villain.” Both vulnerable and defiant with a boundary pushing country-meets-R&B sound, the track hit Number One on the iTunes all-genre chart and SiriusXM's The Highway Hot 30 Weekend Countdown, leading to her new, ten-song project, Stronger Than I Am. In 2022, Rose was nominated for ACM Best New Female Artist and recognized for Outstanding Breakthrough Artist at the 2022 GLAAD Media Awards. With her focus firmly on integrity, Rose's bold mix of personal lyricism and distinctive language meets the hooky sonics of a post-genre fanbase, as pure-country confessions merge with Hip-Hop beats and R&B flow – plus representation where there was none before. All told, it gives new credence to her “groundbreaking” label.
