Parenting Pointers: My Life in a Book

One conversation at a time, have a loved ones story printed and preserve their memories forever.  My Life in a Book, transforms memories into keepsakes while preserving legacies and bringing families closer together. The company designed a framework around 121 questions to pose to parents or grandparents to prompt them to share their most memorable life moments.

I had a chance to learn more in this interview.

  • What makes My Life in a Book such a good gift?

Gifting our one-year story prompt program is all about making our loved ones feel valued, making sure they know how much we care about them, and how much we care about passing along their memories to future generations.

  • How can sharing memories help families bond across generations?

First, this helps parents be remembered, while empowering their children to treasure their life story and learn from it. And all this leads to deeper connections and stronger family ties in the present. Just imagine a society where each generation is able to learn from the stories of the previous generation… where no one is forgotten, and everyone is remembered. How different would the world be?

The difference would be tremendous. Such a society would progress faster, would honor and respect its past while learning from it to build a better future.

  • How were the questions chosen for the book?

The questions were chosen from my personal story, which is actually the foundation of My Life in a Book. The idea of creating this website came to me one evening in the fall of 2020. That night, my mother confided in me that she was afraid that with age she might forget some details of her life that she would like to share with me and her grandchildren. Despite the fact that we saw each other every weekend, I realized that night that I had rarely been able to talk with her about her life story.

I therefore started sending her a question about her life every Sunday. And that's how the 121 questions on the platform were born.
