Sony Music Nashville recording artist
Karley Scott Collins continues to impress with her unique blend of Country music that honors the craft of songwriting as well as her bold vocal delivery on her latest release, “Petty in the 80s,”
available everywhere today.
“I have a habit of really overthinking things in my life, especially when it comes to love,” shares Collins. “'Petty in the 80s' is about doing the exact opposite of that, just having fun, letting go, and letting yourself free fall. I'm a huge fan of Tom Petty and he's always been a massive inspiration for the music I write, so it's really cool and fun for me to get to reference and honor his music through this song.”
Collins has always been inspired by the past, whether it was rock-and-roll bands she heard through the radio waves as a child or stories she read in literature - making this new release an ode to her old soul influences. Penning the track with Brock Berryhill and Josh Miller, the songstress smoothly combines her vocal grit with a poetic spin to tell the tale of letting go of hesitation and free falling into love. Showcasing a new relationship's excitement with lyrics about the perfect balance between flying and staying grounded, this is her first release of 2023.
The Lake City, Fla. native finds her comfort in songwriting, but her favorite moments are on stage performing her original tracks, most recently hitting the road with Nate Smith. Dubbed as “a true visionary” by Country Swag and backed by power teams at Sony Music Nashville, Sandbox Entertainment, CAA and Warner Chappell Music the future of her career is undoubtedly bright.
