I have two neurodivergent kids, so I was happy to be able to review some of these products perfect for people with sensory needs, and highlight a few others.
I previously reviewed both the Hoglet Computer Mouse and HedgeHog Fidget Key Chain, both of which my girls loved. I also recently had a chance to see Tactile Shells by Edx Education. These were a lot of fun. They're pretty colors and just the right shape to be comfortable in nearly any-sized hand. They have fun textures as well, which makes them great quiet fidgets for kids who have sensory needs and enjoy that tactile feel. They're really pretty too, and for younger kids they can be great tools to work on sorting and classifying objects, counting, and basic math operations. Edx also makes Rain Pebbles and Eco-Friendly Pebbles.
Other products that may be appropriate for kids with special sensory needs:
- Bunnies by the Bay Big Nibble Bunny (also sold at FAO Schwarz, Hallmark, Neiman Marcus)
- LectroFan Evo Sound Machine (also sold at Walmart, Amazon, Bed Bath and Beyond, and more)
- Riff Raff Baby sleep toy
