John Donohue, a former New Yorker magazine editor turned world-traveling artist, is selling signed, limited-edition prints of the most iconic restaurants in London from his latest book A Taste of London.
In his newest book, he crisscrosses London sketching the facade of more than 100 eateries, from fish-and-chip stalwarts to classics like St. John’s and the River Café. The pen-and-ink drawings, which take him about 20 minutes to complete with no corrections, capture the lasting emotional connection that restaurants evoke.
The limited-edition prints are part of a larger collection of sketches found in his first two books All the Restaurants in New York, which was published in 2019, and A Table in Paris, which was released in 2021. Together, the three books form a trilogy for a larger collection called ALL THE RESTAURANTS. He also has a Napa Valley collection, following a museum show there, in 2022
Thousands of people have bought his prints to commemorate the site of a first date, an engagement, an incredible meal and memorable trips to New York, Paris, Napa and now London. His work has also been featured in the New York Times, Eater, Frenchly and more.
John is a solo-artist based in Brooklyn. Since the start of the pandemic he has been donating 10% of his profits to the Restaurant Workers Community Foundation, which provides direct support and performs advocacy for restaurant workers.
