Book Nook - PT Runs Free

PT Runs Free,” written by Jason Kraus and illustrated by Connor DeHaan, features real-life rescue dog PT, who now resides in Fort Myers, Florida, and his journey as a shelter dog to facing further adversity by losing a leg to finding his “furever” home with a powerful message he now delivers – to Never Give Up.

PT is an ambassador of hope and overcoming obstacles. “I wanted to tell PT's story because there are so many life lessons children AND adults can learn from his bravery and perseverance. His life's story exemplifies the resilience many rescue dogs exude as they often go through harsh beginnings to their lives but are able to overcome all obstacles through positivity,” Jason believes.

PT’s owner Angie McGilvrey, who owns Apex Physical Therapy with husband Joe McGilvrey, adds that PT is on tour doing “Never Give Up” workshops at local churches, YMCA, kids’ camps this summer. Most recently, PT attended a Fort Myers Kiwanis meeting spreading his inspirational message. “We will take his book and read to kids and PT will go around and pass out high fives and spreading the message to Never Give Up.”
