Sorghum United, a leading international non-governmental organization focused on education, market development, and global food security in the sorghum and millets sector, is excited to announce the expansion of its innovative children's book series, The Sorgho Squad, with the release of the second book.
The Sorgho Squad series, which includes characters Jowar, Mashilla, and Milo, is designed to highlight the global significance of sorghum and millets in promoting sustainable agriculture and food security. The characters are also featured in a collection of ten posters that emphasize the role of sorghum in industrial products, healthy diets, and environmental sustainability. These posters were created to support the United Nations' International Year of Millets and are currently exhibited at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization offices in Rome, Italy.
The second book in the series, Sorgho Squad: Chapter #2: The Rumors are True....Introducing, Mashilla!," continues the thrilling adventure of the Sorgho Squad as they embark on a global expedition to find and awaken the next member of the ancient-grain supergroup, Mashilla. Authored by Nate Blum, CEO of Sorghum United, the book is a captivating blend of adventure, education, and the magic of ancient grains.
"The Sorgho Squad book series is an engaging and educational journey aimed at finding solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges," said Nate Blum. "These books, now available digitally on Amazon, will not only entertain children but also provide essential information for parents about the benefits of climate-smart sorghum in food, fuel, and fiber products."
The first book in the series, Sorgho Squad Chapter One: From the Ruins Comes Jowar, is already available digitally on Amazon, with hard copies set to be available for global distribution in mid-August. The series is planned to include four initial stories introducing the Sorgho Squad characters as they unite to tackle hunger, malnutrition, and environmental challenges worldwide.
A portion of the revenues from the series sales will support Sorghum United's global efforts to empower farmers and entrepreneurs by creating resilient and prosperous regional value chains.
