Expert speaker and leadership consultant Juliet Hall helps others understand what’s possible when they bet on themselves. She is available to share with your audience her empowering insights on career changes and self-maximization — topics she also covers in-depth in her 2023 Nautilus Book Award winner, Own Your Opportunities.
Originally written with women in mind — particularly women of color — Own Your Opportunities is resonating equally with men who want to chart a new course and need a nudge in the right direction.

- What inspired you to write this book, especially with a focus on women of color?
“So many business and leadership books are written by white men. I wanted to write a book that women, and especially women of color, could relate to. I lay out my life in the pages so that readers would be inspired and see what is possible when you take the limits off, bet on yourself, and step out on faith and a plan to pursue your dream.”
- Even though this book was written for women, how can it apply to men as well?
“Men who’ve read Own Your Opportunities have shared with me they identify with the emotions of feeling trapped. The tips and strategies presented in the Author’s Notes at the end of the book provide a compass for both men and women who desire to make a career pivot.”
- Why is it important for everyone to take responsibility for their own growth and development?
“Because no one else will. No one can walk your path but you. If you rely on a person, company, or system to feed you, you will always be dependent on them—this is dangerous. You would be giving others license to control you. So it is critical for your sake that you become your own champion.”
- What is self-maximization?
“Self-maximization is living in the fullness of your authenticity and everything else you were created to be. It means developing and deploying your gifts and living out your life assignment.”
