The San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park are celebrating fall with a wide range of seasonal activities and entertainment, along with immersive wildlife experiences—and both wildlife conservation parks are inviting guests ages 11 and younger to visit for free throughout the entire month of October: Kids Free month.
At the San Diego Zoo, HalGLOWeen has become an annual “must” for the whole family. After the sun sets every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in October, guests can enjoy a multitude of Halloween-themed experiences, including live music and performances, culinary treats and interactive fun. During the day, Zoo guests also have the opportunity to venture through the high-tech and interactive Denny Sanford Wildlife Explorers Basecamp.
At the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, guests can enjoy Autumn Festival every Saturday and Sunday in October, with special fall-themed entertainment, activities and culinary comforts. Whether guests arrive on a weekend or a weekday, they can also take part in one-of-a-kind safari experiences and get the chance to see wildlife up close.
The San Diego Zoo is located north of downtown San Diego in Balboa Park, at 2920 Zoo Drive. The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is located just a few miles north of San Diego in Escondido, California, at 155oo San Pasqual Valley Road.
HalGLOWeen activities and entertainment are scheduled Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in October, only at the Zoo. Autumn Festival activities and entertainment are scheduled Saturdays and Sundays in October, only at the Safari Park. The San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park open at 9 a.m. daily. The Zoo is open until 9 p.m. on HalGLOWeen dates; the Safari Park is open until 7 p.m. on Autumn Festival dates. All youths ages 11 and younger will receive free admission to the Zoo and Safari Park in October, when accompanied by an adult with a valid form of admission or membership. HalGLOWeen and Autumn Festival activities and entertainment are free for all ages with admission or membership. Special premium experiences, including wildlife tours and safaris, require advance reservations and an additional fee.
