For the past six years, Seed Your Future (SYF) has hosted the Plant Mash-Up Contest as part of our mission to ensure the next generation is inspired by plants. The contest allows students to think strategically and envision a hybrid plant to help solve a problem in their community.
And this year, they're shaking things up! To encourage year-round excitement for all things plants, they’ve changed the contest format so that teachers can download materials at any time of the year to host the contest in their own classrooms. Get started hosting your own Plant Mash-Up Contest by downloading materials today.
From aloe vera and burgundy rubber trees addressing air pollution and skin health, to silver maple and breadfruit trees taking on food deserts and malnutrition, the possibilities are endless for your students to imagine, describe and draw their own hybrid plants.
