Fun Freetime - Spookley the Square Pumpkin

He’s here. He’s there. He’s square. And he’s everywhere people are gathering to celebrate Halloween and the wonders of the fall harvest season. In fact, Holiday Hill Farm – home of beloved holiday icon Spookley the Square Pumpkin (www.spookley.com) – today announced that Spookley and his Holiday Hill Farm friends have been invited to make an appearance at hundreds of Halloween-themed events this fall at farms, theme parks and resorts across the United States and Canada…and as far away as Italy and Merry Old England!

Spookley Season, the all-encompassing kaleidoscope of events, broadcasts, contests, consumer products releases and live-action shows, brings families and friends together to spend more time together in a fun, wholesome atmosphere. While it’s almost easier to list the pumpkin patches, harvest festivals and Halloween festivities Spookley won’t be attending, here are just a few of the places everyone can find their favorite bullying-prevention crusader and get into celebrating #SpookleySeason:

  • Barnes & Noble bookstores love Spookley as much as his many fans do, and from September through Halloween Spookley and his Holiday Hill Farm friends will be center stage for story time and meet & greet events and special displays of the much-loved books and newly-released Spookley plush toys from GUND.
  • Fans can say hello to Spookley at the Sesame Place Spooktacular celebration every day it’s open from September 16 through November 5.
  • Not to be outdone, SeaWorld San Antonio’s own Spooktacular event (September 14 through October 29) will feature Spookley greeting fans who successfully navigate the Spookley Hay Maze.
  • Spookley and his friends will also be back by popular demand for Halloween festivities and the fall festival season with special appearances at Gaylord Resorts’ “Goblins & Giggles,” Callaway Gardens, and one-day appearances at retailers and farms throughout the season.
  • Spookley will play a major role in opening day of Toy Fair in New York, the global toy and gift industry’s biggest show of the year in North America. On September 30, Spookley will be part of the costume character parade and ribbon cutting to kick off the show to raise awareness around Spookley and the new GUND plush line.
  • Last but certainly not least, October will feature a celebration of National Bullying Prevention Month with the “Official Spokes-Pumpkin” for PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center. Activities for the classroom and families are available on the PACER’s website and everyone is encouraged to participate in Unity Day on October 18, 2023.

“We are partnering with many best-in-class providers of family-friendly fun to enhance their events and activities with all things Spookley,” says Aaron Burakoff, Head of Partnerships at Holiday Hill Farm. “Spookley and his Holiday Hill Farm friends are ready to start spreading kindness, joy and laughs during Spookley season which is now entering its 22nd year.”

Spookley was born one Halloween night years ago, when Joe Troiano’s young son asked for a non-scary bedtime story about pumpkins. Troiano is the award-winning author, script writer, lyricist, and producer behind all of the Spookley the Square Pumpkin and Holiday Hill Farm books, movies, songs and stage shows. Spookley lives on Holiday Hill Farm, a world of storytelling magic where "Every Day is a Holiday” and where Spookley and his friends celebrate what makes every day – and every one – special throughout the entire year.
