I recently had a chance to review HeyBambu, a sustainable bamboo toilet paper brand that is helping the planet with one tree planted with every purchase. The toilet paper reduces carbon footprint - everything from the tube to the paper, down to the packaging (made from paper and soy-ink) is made without plastics or chemicals.
The site has a section on sustainability that explains more about why bamboo is a great option for toilet paper. As far as how well it works, it's comparable to any mid-range toilet paper brand. It's not the absolute softest I've ever had, or the most luxuriously absorbent, but it also isn't the thinnest, scratchiest toilet paper I've ever used. It absorbed well, wasn't irritating, and didn't take any more toilet paper to accomplish the job than the standard toilet paper we had been using. It's definitely a brand I'd consider getting again!
