Going Green - GoGo squeeZ® and TerraCycle®

GoGo squeeZ®, a leading innovator in portable snacks, announced today that it has officially kept over 10 million squeezable snack plastic pouches and caps out of landfills across the country through its free recycling program created in partnership with TerraCycle, an international leader in innovative sustainability solutions. In celebration of this milestone and the brand's ongoing commitment to creating a sustainable future for children to thrive and grow, GoGo squeeZ® is giving back to teachers and classrooms in need nationwide.

To help ensure students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education, the brand is donating a portion of its profits to Donors Choose, a nonprofit organization that allows individuals to donate directly to public school classroom projects.

“At GoGo squeeZ, we recognize the pivotal role teachers play in shaping the next generation of environmental stewards,” said GoGo squeeZ® Chief Marketing Officer Mark Anthony Edmonson. “As part of our mission to make the world a happier, healthier place, we provide snacks that nourish kids’ bodies and minds to encourage them to give every adventure their all. We want these adventures to take place in beautiful communities where we are immensely grateful for the work teachers do every single day, and for our TerraCycle partnership that provides smart and effective recycling solutions.”

Combined, the amount of GoGo squeeZ® pouches collected to-date equates to nearly 130 tons or the weight of 19 adult elephants. Once collected, the pouches are cleaned, separated by material type, melted, and remolded to make new recycled products such as shipping pallets, lumber, bike racks, park benches and tables, and recycling bins.

“GoGo squeeZ has been an incredibly impactful long-time partner of TerraCycle,” said TerraCycle CEO and Founder, Tom Szaky. “It’s exciting to see that together we’ve successfully diverted millions of used GoGo squeeZ pouches from landfills and transformed them into valuable products.”

The GoGo squeeZ® Free Recycling Program is ongoing and open to any interested individual, school, business, or community organization. For more information on TerraCycle’s recycling program, visit www.terracycle.com. Connect with GoGo squeeZ® at www.gogosqueez.com.
