A new survey by healthcare experts Harmony Healthcare IT is shedding light on how Gen Z copes with anxiety. It asked nearly 1,000 Gen Zers who self-identified as having anxiety about how they cope, and found that over 1 in 3 say their parents aren’t sympathetic to their struggles at all.
Why it matters:
Gen Z is widely considered one of the most anxious generations, and the numbers back it up:
- 43% cite panic attacks monthly or more
- 1 in 4 are planning on skipping some holiday events due to anxiety
- 1 in 3 are taking medication, and of those 23% worry about affording it
With family-related events causing 2 in 5 anxiety around the holidays, families can work to help their struggling Gen Zers. Doing self-care activities with them like walking or creative activities can help.
Take a look at the full report to see how Gen Zers are coping (or not), and what worries them the most in 2023.
