Enter an alternative world: deep within a Christmas Tree - a fully realised world, not populated by humans, but by festive ornaments.
Power – held by a governing fairy – is handed on to the next-in-line every few seasons. However, one fairy, Phaedria, refuses to stand down. Forcibly removed and stripped of magic, she is banished, until she formulates a plan to retake the Tree. By hunting and absorbing the Tree’s lights, with the help of an enslaved ice-creature, she regains her powers and gathers an army.
The Tree’s ornaments, many and varied, must put aside their differences and draw together.
Little do the Tree’s owners (a boy named Henry and his father) know of this world, until the boy – and his faithful teddy bear – are drawn in and embroiled in a war.
On his journey Henry is burdened with a perilous mission. Kidnapped by elves, he falls into the hands of Phaedria the fallen fairy. If he wants to keep his beloved Bear alive (a stuffed teddy from home, now animated) he must agree to deliver a 'gift' to Lilly, the current governing fairy.
Henry hitches a ride on a giant snowflake, transforms into a bird, meets a tiny, wizened king and the winds he commands, among many other strange encounters - and all in pyjamas and his dressing gown.

ABOUT THE COVER ARTIST
A child of the 70s/80s, Morganico grew up in Brixton, London, with his ‘happy, kooky, hippy family’ embracing the creative culture of poetic squatters, dreamer artists, and others engrossed in striking graffiti.
An escapee from the bad day jobs of his youth, today this unconventional artist is much applauded for his powerful murals and street art, commissioned by enlightened councils and organisations to brighten cityscapes, as well as drab tube stations.
Morganico is happiest when transforming huge blank walls with spray paint & tiny brush, or wielding his chainsaw to create highly individual wooden sculptures from old tree stumps, all to enliven parks and enchant school children in their city playgrounds.
