Healthy Habits - Reducing stress during the holidays: Alzheimer’s Association offers a free webinar Dec. 6 for families impacted by dementia

 The Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-North Dakota will offer a no-cost virtual presentation on Wednesday, December 6, to help caregivers and those impacted by dementia with recommendations for calmer, more stress-free holiday gatherings.

 

“For people living with dementia and their caregivers, the holidays can be hectic. Routines are altered and there are frequent gatherings with many people, “says Heidi Haley-Franklin, Alzheimer’s Association VP of Programs. “This presentation offers practical tips for holiday travel, better gatherings and improved communication. It will also include holiday gift ideas for those living with dementia and some wonderful recipe ideas.”

 

The online presentation will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and is open to the public. To attend, register in advance online at alz.org/mnndThe presenters will be Annette Goehring (North Dakota Assistive), Megan Dooley (Innovative Therapy Solutions), Beth Olson (Alzheimer’s Association MN-ND) and Sandie Nystrom (Caregiver).

  • Support groups for individuals living with dementia or care partners that allow people to connect, share resources and offer encouragement.
