From 2020 to 2023, Google searches among all Americans for ‘therapists near me’ increased by 49%, and for young Americans, 2024 is stacking up to be no different.
A new report shedding light on Gen Z and Millennial mental health in 2024 found that 39% are seeking therapy in 2024, while 22% are currently in therapy-- nearly double the number.
- Top issues to address: Anxiety (76%), Depression (72%), Stress (54%)
- 1 in 4 are also seeking therapy for trauma or ADHD
- 49% struggle to find a therapist; 64% choose based on style of therapy
Of the 1 in 5 Gen Z and Millennials currently in therapy, 26% are planning to stay in therapy forever. Not only that, but 1 in 3 consider their therapists their friends.
