A career in education can be arduous, so any teacher planning for retirement could definitely use a trip!
Road Scholar is excited to announce that they are offering two private program dates just for retired teachers and their guests! Participants will embark on unforgettable educational journeys to the picturesque landscapes of Nova Scotia or Cinque Terre with other educators who love to learn.
Road Scholar estimate that more than a quarter of our participants are retired educators— more than any other career represented— likely because of our educational mission and focus on learning on our travel programs. But these are our first programs being offered exclusively for retired educators. The programs will offer a unique opportunity to bond even more quickly with others who share a special passion for learning and education and the experiences that only a teacher can understand. The programs were inspired by Road Scholar's extremely active and engaged Retired Teachers Travel Club Facebook group.
"As a teacher, I believe in lifelong learning, and the Road Scholar trips have fulfilled that need to continue learning about people and places," says five-time Road Scholar Cindy Sheets from Lees Summi, Missouri. "I've discovered that many of the [Road Scholar] participants are teachers or former teachers. Teachers seem to have a bond that goes beyond place and time, no matter what position or experiences we may have had. We just love to keep on learning, and doing it with others who have the same goal makes it even more enticing."
The exclusive programs for retired teachers are open for enrollment now: Cinque Terre, Carrara and Medieval Hill Towns, August 25-September 4, 2024 and Nova Scotia: Highlands, History and Halifax, September 26-October 5, 2024!
