Music Minute - Tucker Wetmore: What Would You Do?

Country sensation Tucker Wetmore continues his winning streak with the release of his highly anticipated follow-up single "What Would You Do?," out today, May 24. Tapped this month as Billboard's May Rookie of the Month, the “captivating and unmistakably Country” (Holler) singer's red-hot third single is available for fans now with an all-new visualizer. Since bursting onto the scene just three months ago, Country's hottest new star is “reaching career milestones at warp speed” (Billboard), having already racked up over 150M streams as his wildly successful career heats up like never before. “Clearly he's off to a great start,” Forbes praises.

“This is one of the most real songs I've ever written,” shares Wetmore. “We've all encountered the typical narcissist at some point in our lives or in a relationship, and this one's about what you'd say if you had the chance to ask 'em what they'd do if they were in your position. I can't wait to play this one out on the road for y'all this summer.”

Co-written by Wetmore, Jacob Hackworth, Jaxson Free and Gabe Foust, Wetmore turns the tables on his significant other, avoiding the blame game in seek of a confession of the truth. His moody vocals flow over an 808-driven backbeat, bringing a fresh take to the 'done me wrong' lyric. After catching his unfaithful better half red-handed, he avoids the typical heartbreak and revenge tropes, and instead poses the question “What Would You Do?” if the roles were reversed.

Wetmore continues to showcase his growth as an artist with each song he releases, peeling back the layers of his storytelling and musical style with another surefire hit. In just three months, his debut tracks have seen unprecedented success as his rapidly growing fanbase of over 1M+ eagerly anticipate his every move. Quickly establishing himself as “one to watch in 2024” (Country Central), Wetmore also nabbed two songs on the soundtrack of the re-make of the 1996 blockbuster “Twisters,” hitting theaters this July, with “Already Had It” and “Steal My Thunder” with Conner Smith.

Wetmore completed his first headlining show this past Wednesday (5/22) in Sarasota, Fla. at Big Top Brewing, performing to a packed house that sold out within 24 hours. As his support slot on Kameron Marlowe's Strangers Tour wraps up, he'll continue to capture the ears and hearts of fans with performances at Nashville's CMA Fest, Cowboys Music Festival, Country Boom Festival and Tailgate N' Tallboys Michigan before joining Luke Bryan's FARM TOUR 2024 later this summer. ABOUT TUCKER WETMORE:
Singer-songwriter Tucker Wetmore knows his way around a Country song. His own life has unfolded like one, from his small-town childhood in the rural American Northwest to his time playing college football in Montana. When an injury ended his hopes of a professional career, Tucker headed back home to Kalama, Wash. — population: 2,700 — and dusted off his guitar, channeling his feelings into original songs that are rooted in Country storytelling with modern melodies. Less than a year later, he moved to Nashville to begin chasing down his own version of the American Dream, sharpening his writing skills and crafting a unique Country sound.

"We've got a little bit of love, a little bit of God, and a little bit of alcohol," Tucker says of his songs, which blend his baritone vocals with singalong hooks, infectious charisma, and roll-up-your-sleeves determination. A star athlete since childhood, Tucker first learned about perseverance on the playing field. He excelled at a myriad of sports, earning four state championships during his senior year and setting state records. Music provided a source of comfort and clarity throughout the journey, offering answers whenever Tucker found himself at a turning point.

"I started playing piano when I was 11 years old," the self-taught musician remembers. "Looking back, I realized I was looking for something to help me cope with my emotions. Since then, music has always been my therapy. I see how much it has changed and affected my life, and if I can help at least one other person in a similar way, that would be more than enough for me."

With magnetic charm and versatile songwriting, Tucker is striving to make a connection, and so far, it's working. Amassing over 1M followers and tens of millions of views online, Tucker's dedicated fanbase eagerly anticipates his every move. He's already notched back-to-back spots on Billboard's Hot 100 with his debut singles “Wine Into Whiskey” and Wind Up Missin' You” as he clocks in an impressive 150+ million streams in three months. “Wine Into Whiskey'' continues to garner adds at Country radio independently, while “Wind Up Missin' You” spins on SiriusXM The Highway. Tucker took his new music to the road for the first time, recently wrapping Kameron Marlowe's Strangers Tour before he hits the road for Luke Bryan's Farm Tour 2024 later this yearFrom the football field to the stage, he's always brought dedication and drive to his work… and these days, that work is sounding like a singer-songwriter on the brink of putting himself on the map.
