Summer is finally here, officially later this week! Check out new summer cocktail recipes below from Gray Whale Gin, the fastest growing gin in America that is all about California botanicals and ocean conservation. They're excited introduce the Mint Rickey from Gray Whale Gin, our low sugar take on the gin rickey, as well as other delicious cocktails perfect for the warmer months ahead, including a twist on the spritz, spicy twist on the Eastside and our signature cocktail, Beachside.
Mint Rickey
Our take on the gin rickey, a lower sugar way to enjoy Gray Whale Gin. It features our signature botanical mint along with the classic lime. Topped with soda water for the ultimate refreshment.
· Ingredients:
o 2 parts Gray Whale Gin
o ½ part Fresh Lime Juice
o Club Soda
o Garnish: Mint Sprig and Lime Wheel
· Instructions:
o Fill Collins or highball glass with ice. Add lime juice and gin, and top with club soda. Garnish with lime wheel and mint sprig.
Elderflower Spritz
This drink combines Gray Whale Gin with white vermouth, elderflower liqueur and prosecco or cava for a fun & floral take on the classic spritz. Topped with soda water for extra refreshment.
· Ingredients:
o 1.5 parts Gray Whale Gin
o 0.5 part Carpano Bianco
o 0.5 part Elderflower Liqueur
o 2 parts Prosecco or Cava
o Club Soda
o Garnish: Lemon twist
· Instructions:
o Add all ingredients to a wine glass and top with ice. Garnish with lemon twist.
East Coast Kicker
A spicy twist on the Eastside, this drink will be a hit for anyone looking for a refreshing kick from their cocktail.
· Ingredients:
o 2 parts Gray Whale Gin
o 1 part Fresh Lime Juice
o ¾ part Simple Syrup
o 3-4 Cucumber slices
o 5 Mint leaves
o 3-4 dashes Firewater bitters
o Garnishes: Mint sprig, jalapeño slice
· Instructions:
o Muddle cucumber slices in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Add remaining ingredients and ice, and shake. Fine strain into a coupe glass and garnish with mint and jalapeño.
Beachside
Our take on the classic piña colada. Tropical and fruity, this is the perfect beachside cocktail. Crafted with pineapple, coconut cream, fresh squeezed lemon juice and mint.
· Ingredients:
o 1.5oz Gray Whale Gin
o 1.5oz Pineapple
o 1oz Cream of Coconut squeeze
o 0.5oz Fresh Lemon Juice
o Handful of mint
o Garnish: Mint sprig
· Method:
o Shake all ingredients together with ice. Strain into a highball glass filled with fresh ice and garnish with mint.
