Enriching Education - Wreaths Across America Vietnam War Commemoration (Online and Mall of America, 6/13-6/15)

 Wreaths Across America Radio, in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, proudly announces a live broadcast commemorating the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. Scheduled to air from Thursday, June 13, through Saturday, June 15, 2024, the broadcast will run daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. CT (11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET) on Wreaths Across America Radio.

 

This live broadcast allows veterans and their families to engage with the broader community and reflect on the sacrifices made during the Vietnam War. It will showcase special guests and highlights from the commemoration event at the Mall of America. The broadcast will be co-hosted by Mark Peterson, a volunteer WAA Co-Location Coordinator for Fort Snelling National Cemetery; Minnesota Military Radio’s Tom Lyons, a Vietnam Veteran and Wreaths Across America Radio partner; and Doug Johnson, the Chief Operating Officer of Minnesota-based Weatherology and weather provider for Wreaths Across America Radio.

 

The 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War Commemoration event, commissioned by the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, aims to honor and recognize Minnesota’s Vietnam War-era veterans and their families. Hosted at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn. (North entrance and atrium), June 13 - 15, 2024. The event will feature various activities, including a resource fair, historical displays from the Minnesota Military and Veterans Museum, and a replica of the Vietnam War Memorial “Wall That Heals.”
