I recently had a chance to review Originale - Recipes and Essentials of Italian Cooking (gestalten & Viani, Berlin, Sept/Nov 2024). This is a beautiful, high-quality cookbook, perfect for anyone who loves Italian food, cooking, learning about ingredients, or anything to do with Italian cuisine!
The book is full of recipes that highlight the variety of Italian cuisine. The photos make the food all look absolutely irresistible, and the recipes are clearly written to help cooks of any level capture the spirit of Italian cooking.
The recipes are great, but you can learn a lot from the book besides the recipes themselves. The beautiful pictures make me want to travel to Italy, and there are ingredients featured throughout the book, like tomatoes, pasta, oils, and more, than help describe the differences between different varieties and make cooks more educated and well-rounded.
Although this cookbook is a little pricier than some, it is well worth the cost. If you love Italy or Italian food, be sure to check it out!
