Fun Freetime - Baby Shower Favors

It has been a long time since my own baby shower, but I do love celebrating new bundles of joy with friends and family. Baby shower trends have certainly changed over the years, but as with any celebration, it's still pretty common to give baby shower favors.

Some people opt for edible favors, such as baby bottle-themed candy. Because sweets are generally well-received, and there are a lot of different flavor and form options, candy is a popular favor, not just for baby showers, but for many other celebrations as well. You do need to be aware of food allergies and dietary preferences, so it's always a good idea to have a back-up favor for guests that are unable to eat your chosen themed favor (it's a good idea to be aware of the allergies/dietary needs of your guests anyway, for health and safety reasons).

Consumable favors can be popular because they aren't just trinkets that will sit on a shelf. That doesn't have to be food, though; because it's easy to customize printed labels, you can turn hygiene products into fun themed party favors - or even find baby-themed lip balm or other widely-used toiletries. Chapstick, soap, hand lotion, and other products can make useful shower favors. Again, you might want to have some alternatives - some guests will appreciated a natural or scent-free option.

One option you might not have considered - succulents. These little plants can be bought at a great value, and they add some green to your party guests' space. The best thing about succulents is that they require very little care, so while they'll eventually die if they aren't cared for, it will take a long time. At just a few dollars each, succulents are cheaper than flowers and last much, much longer.

While party favors certainly aren't required for baby showers, they can add an extra little flair or sense of fun. You can find favors to match any theme, or tailor them to the interests of the guest of honor. There are tons of great ideas to match any budget - or any level of craft skill as well. And it's fun to give gifts too!
